The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program Solicitation

The Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship program seeks to encourage talented science, technology, engineering, and mathematics majors and professionals to become K-12 mathematics and science teachers. Hopa Mountain, Blackfeet Community College, OneStepFurther, Inc. and Oglala Lakota College have received a grant from the National Science Foundation to develop Native Science Field Centers (NSFC) on the Blackfeet (MT), Ft. Belknap (MT), and Pine Ridge Reservations (SD) reservations. Institutions submit proposals to invite scholars to teach. Proposals are welcome from individual institutions or consortia. Institutions may suggest suitable candidates or have CIES recruit scholars from a particular world area. The primary audience is expected to be comprised of tribal health professionals, tribal environmental protection professionals, and tribal leaders from across the country, including Alaska. Parallel Computing Workshop
 
The University of Oklahoma will be hosting a Parallel Computing workshop, Sun Aug 10 - Sat Aug 16, sponsored by the SC08 Education Program. Registration is now open:
The fee is $150 per person for the weeklong workshop. This fee covers registration, housing, food and workshop materials. You'll be responsible for your own travel costs.
Workshops are also open to high school teachers collaborating with college faculty. Educators in all fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics, humanities, arts and social sciences are welcome, especially those from minority-serving institutions. Faculty are encouraged to mentor and support undergraduate and graduate students as part of their workshop team.
 
The SC08 Education Program is a year-long program working with undergraduate faculty, administrators, college students, and collaborating high school teachers to integrate computational science and high performance computing and communications technologies highlighted through the SC Conference into the preparation of future scientists, technologists, engineers, mathematicians and teachers.
